Dear God/ess, One of the most important things to arise from my talk with Chuck Pennacchio on Tuesday's radio show about HB 1660 and SB 400, the PA Single Payer legislation, was the emphasis on REAL patient centered choice and care.

Much lip service has been given to patient centered care, but it does not exist and cannot exist as long as the specter of the Health Insurance Corporation haunts and dictates  medical decisions.

Tomaso's recent hospitalization underscored the CYA (Cover Your Ass) style of medicine practiced here in the US. I am grateful that Tomaso is still with us on Planet Earth, but the noise level in that hospital and the fact that sleep is nonexistent, runs counter to any kind of real healing that only sleep can provide, as test after test, antibiotic after antibiotic was administered.

The strict allopathic approach to medicine in this country is why I avoid going to the doctor, and would continue avoiding no matter if we had Single Payer, or not, as long as the rigid allopathic medical model remains in place. More and more people are trusting their Naturapathic or Homeopathic Doctor and rejecting Allopathy. These numbers grow every day.

Chuck Pennacchio said that he and Walter Tsou and others went through the Single Payer Bill line by line to reflect Integrative Medical choices. These intervention, such as Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, massage, vitamin supplement therapy among many others, would further cut medical costs. Single Payer would bring the cost of medicine to a manageable level, and providing Integrative Medical choices in the equation would cut costs even more.

Speaking of cutting costs, Single Payer is the answer to the so called budget woe in every State in the US. But an EIS (Economic Impact Study) would prove exactly how much money would be saved. This is the next step in getting our Single Payer legislation passed.

Please donate here to make the EIS a reality. We need to educate the public about this important life-saving, life promoting, life enhancing future for Pennsylvania, because once PA takes the leap of moral faith to pass this legislation, all other states will follow.

There is no doubt in my mind.
